“Striving for Excellence”
As spring nears to an end, and summer is on the rise, I want to take this opportunity to update our Association’s members of recent and upcoming events.
Back on May 7, CPMA members from Colorado Springs and Pueblo joined together for the first “CPMA Town Hall Meeting” at the world famous Broadmoor Hotel and Resort. Both cities were well represented by our constituents and a number of important issues including Medicare updates, The Practice Act, The Annual 2008 CPMA Conference, APMA PAC, and APMA/ACFAS updates were covered. Many thanks go out to our Executive Director, Corky Kyle, CPMA Executive Assistant, Christie Ingram, CPMA Board of Directors Member, Dr. Frederick Mechanik, D.C. Hoffman of Wright Medical, and Ellen Hinkle of SYMKA for helping to organize, and co-sponsor this event.
Just a reminder, over the past three years, The State of Colorado has failed to achieve our desired goal for APMA PAC (formerly PPAC). At present time, only 4 CPMA members have contributed to this fund. Please, let’s make every attempt to assist our APMA PAC State Representative, Thomas Atwood, and DPM of Greeley, CO, to achieve this most important goal. If anyone has questions about APMA PAC, please contact Dr. Atwood.
Be prepared, the Town Hall Meetings will continue through the summer and hopefully be a regular event in an effort to keep our members updated of current and controversial issues. The next scheduled Town Hall Meeting is July 9, 2008 at The Warwick Denver Hotel for CPMA members in the Denver/Metro area. In addition, a Town Hall Meeting is currently in the process of being scheduled for the CPMA members of Northern Colorado. Please consult the CPMA website www.colopma.org or contact the CPMA office 303-302-1106 for further information.
Finally, mark your calendars! The 2008 CPMA Annual Conference is scheduled for October 24-25 at The Sheraton Denver West Hotel in Lakewood, CO. Scheduled to appear are nationally renowned speakers, including Doug Richie, George Vito, Harry Goldsmith, Edward Glazer, Scot Malay and Doug Spitalny. This is an event that you will not want to miss!
If there are any further questions or concerns as to how the CPMA Education Committee can better our efforts, please contact myself, the CPMA office or any member of the Education Committee.
Fraternally,
